Programme Refunds

Refunds or make up sessions will NOT be given for non-attendance of programmes/events for any reason.  Refunds will be issued if a doctor's note is provided to prove the student is unable to attend due to medical reasons.

Product Refunds

All items purchased are non-refundable.  If your product is faulty or damaged when received, please contact us within 7 days of purchase and a replacement will be provided.  Where no replacement is available or products have been discontinued, a refund will be given.  No refunds or replacements will be given for damage caused by individual use.

All other refunds will be at the discretion of Backyard Roots Ltd Management and based on individual circumstances.

Backyard Roots Ltd may use media equipment during any programme for analysis and/or promotional purposes.

By enrolling in any Backyard Roots programme or Event you are giving permission for images of your child/yourself to be used by Backyard Roots Ltd for any lawful purpose.

 If you would rather Backyard Roots Ltd did not use images of your child/yourself, please make us aware in writing by emailing admin@backyard-roots.com.

With appreciation of the dangers and risks associated with programmes and activities on my own behalf and/or on behalf of my child, I hereby fully and completely release and waive any and all claims for personal injury, death, or loss that may arise against Backyard Roots Limited, the activity coordinators, and all employees, volunteers, related parties, or other organisations associated with any programme or activity. I fully understand that participants will participate at their own risk.

By enrolling my child/ren, myself or my family members in any programme or event, I accept all the conditions relating to the course.

Although the information and recommendations at this Backyard Roots website are presented in good faith to be correct, Backyard Roots makes no representations or warranties as to the complete accuracy of the information. Any information is supplied upon the condition that the person receiving it will make their own determination as to its accuracy and its suitability for their purposes prior to its use.

From time to time it is necessary for students (or their parents/guardians) and staff members to supply Backyard Roots Ltd, with certain personal data for administrative, academic, pastoral purposes and activities.

Personal data of staff members, students and their parents/guardians will be handled by relevant Backyard Roots Ltd staff members and will be kept confidential. 

Staff members’ experience and/or teaching qualifications may be made available to relevant Backyard Roots Ltd stakeholders at the discretion of the Director/s.

Backyard Roots Ltd may also disclose some of the data to third parties such as agencies (including the Hong Kong government), service providers and contractors (whether within or outside Hong Kong) appointed by Backyard Roots Ltd to undertake some of its academic, pastoral and administrative and activity delivery. This includes transferring data between the separate arms of Backyard Roots Ltd.

Backyard Roots Ltd may use personal data (such as name and contact details) to send communications that are relevant to parents and students, including but not limited to newsletters, programmes, courses, seminars, lectures, conferences, events and extra-curricular activities or selected third party service providers.

Apart from the parties listed above,Backyard Roots Ltd will not disclose any personal data to any external bodies or organisations unless:

(a) such disclosure is expressly provided for under this Statement; 

(b) permitted to do so by the student or his/her parent/guardian; and/or 

(c) permitted or required by law. 

Personal data may be stored in the Backyard Roots Ltd database systems and online portals and any such personal data provided will form part of the staff member or the student’s official records (as relevant) at Backyard Roots Ltd.

Backyard Roots Ltd may place student’s and staff member’s photo and/or name in Backyard Roots Ltd Website or publications.

Failure to provide the data requested may result in Backyard Roots Ltd being unable to proceed with the purpose for which such data was requested.

Data subjects may submit a signed, written request to the Director/s to access or to correct personal data held by Backyard Roots Ltd.
